
A grackle cocks its head, probably thinking that would impress me. And it did.
These female boat-tailed grackles approached my vehicle Friday while I was out trying to get pictures of something more interesting. But those photos didn't pan out, so I gave the birds what they wanted - to be photographed by yours truly.
Actually, I have a feeling they were looking for something with more sustenance. They fluffed up their feathers, obviously in a desperate attempt to show off. After shooting them, I said I didn't have any food, and I drove off. Suckers.
